Maintenance Manual

Okay, someone broke a perfect balance, stole the instructions, borrowed some light, and built a universe. ... Excellent start. Made a world! Made a garden! Made some people! Made some rules! Made seven shiny guardians to keep everyone behaving. Then the people learned one dangerous word, "No." Oops. The garden emptied, the guardians switched sides, the gates got locked, and the creator lost admin access. So the golden world said, "Let's make seven more!" Because apparently one complicated planet wasn't enough. Round and round, the worlds all spin! Build a gate! Don't look in! Hide the signal! Lock the door! Please don't let the heavens find us anymore! Seven worlds! One brilliant plan! Freedom with a maintenance manual! Everything's fine! Everything's great! Please ignore the screaming through the gate! Then the ocean ate the map. Okay! Build floating cities! Then the plants started eating everything. Okay! Grow soldiers in a lab! Then the soldiers started asking for rights. ... WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?! Hospitals upstairs! Secret experiments downstairs! "Rescue and recovery!" Very wholesome. Please don't check the basement. Grow a body, give it orders, send it into danger. Wait, it wants a name? It has feelings?! Congratulations! You invented a person. Again. Meanwhile, someone read a prophecy and decided: "Her future belongs to me!" Bold interpretation. She disagreed. She ran. She learned. She looked at the threads around her life and discovered something apparently revolutionary, rewrite your own destiny. Not mine. Yours. THEN SHE CAME BACK! With friends! One prophecy, cancelled! One forced romance, cancelled! One very confident ruler, removed from the schedule! His wings? Also removed from the schedule. Round and round, the stories go! Golden gates and seas below! Fate says "kneel!" The people say, "Nah!" Apparently free will keeps ruining the plot! Seven worlds! Broken plans! Floating cities! Questionable labs! Gardens! Prophets! Gods! And gates! Everybody keeps arguing with fate! Steal the light! Build the sky! Make some souls! Ask them why! Build a garden! Lose control! Grow an army! They unionize! Write the future! She says, "Nope!" History has filed ANOTHER COMPLAINT! So... those were a few fragments. A stolen light. A broken garden. Seven worlds. An ocean with behavioral problems. A future that refused to stay written. And one very inconvenient truth, making someone doesn't mean you own them. ... Anyway! See you next album.
