[Intro] (Wind sounds, a distant guitar calling like a voice) [Verse 1] I was chained to the shadows of the city stone Every dream I had was never my own Then I heard the rhythm on the radio waves And the music taught my restless heart to be brave [Pre-Chorus] Now I'm running, running to the light Leaving all the darkness far behind tonight [Chorus] On the wings of the wind, I'm flying high and free The guitar is singing out the truth inside of me On the wings of the wind, no chains can hold me down I'm the king of freedom in a borderless town [Verse 2] The mountains echo with the conga's cry The eagles circle in the open sky Every road I take is one I've never known But the rhythm tells me I am not alone [Pre-Chorus] Now I'm running, running to the light Leaving all the darkness far behind tonight [Chorus] On the wings of the wind, I'm flying high and free The guitar is singing out the truth inside of me On the wings of the wind, no chains can hold me down I'm the king of freedom in a borderless town [Guitar Solo] (Epic, soaring guitar solo — climbing higher and higher over tribal drums) [Bridge] Oh, can you hear it calling The walls are falling Spread your wings and fly into the sun [Final Chorus] On the wings of the wind, I'm flying high and free The guitar is singing out the truth inside of me On the wings of the wind, no chains can hold me down I'm the king of freedom in a borderless town [Outro] (Guitar soars into the sky, wind carries it away)
