[Verse] She said it's always sunny in her mind But the clouds They gather Every time You paint a picture But the colors fade A perfect mirage In the light It swayed [Prechorus] You reach You touch You swear it’s real The closer you get The less you feel [Chorus] Mirage It slips through your fingers Mirage The taste always lingers A glass half-full Or just half a lie You chase the shimmer But it waves goodbye [Verse 2] He said he’s building castles out of sand But the tide keeps stealing all his plans We speak in riddles But the punchline's flat A joke’s a joke But we laugh at that [Prechorus] We run We fall We call it fate But it’s just a trick of the light Too late [Chorus] Mirage It dances in the distance Mirage A love with resistance A fleeting shadow A fleeting sigh You chase the shimmer But it waves goodbye
