a toast / for lovers who have found themselves / in the arms of one another / who have never wavered / in the face of adversity / bravo! indeed. a cheer / for those who still play the game / though we shouldn’t call them players, for heaven’s sake! / they are the brave / those who paint life with bright colors / who still chase after rainbows. a tear / quietly for loners, / perhaps for a few losers / time will heal / be patient / after the rain comes the sun. a prayer / for poets who refuse to see / reality whatever it may be / just to write a line or two / of beautiful fantasies. a song / to soothe the raging beasts / that ravage innocent hearts / find comfort dear ones / somewhere among the wreckage / of ruined dreams. a sigh / no rhyme or reason / a smile / faint enough for the gods / to pity our poor mortals / but still respect us / for our dignity. please / if this is my last poem / a nod / for a pleasant / or curious… amusement.
