Tonight, Stoned at the river’s edge Heaven’s falling into The water Like mirror glass . She blinks. Once. Twice. Decision. And the rain shattered - The cold here inside There exists ….no shelter. The soulless beasts Sleep with a peace I cannot find. Skipping rocks , tripping slow towards the end of time. The thousand yards stare , going nowhere And judgment overdue. We slide through the crowds, unnoticed - We hide in plain sight, eyes red, unfocused; The blood sun of dusk, the skull white moon, we worshipped. Heed the ritual call. Constant- Things breeding things. The conception of the fatherless. The birth of the bastard view. Lay on the rivers, Bank, our expression, indifferent. Natural the poison we drank. Smoked the grasses- the sky tombstone gray Below, on four limbs, we crawl back to the rivers belly. Devolving-sinking ever slowly. The vultures circling overhead, I can sense their excitement. Psilocybin- ingested enlightenment. I’m dropping out with the lights of the dead stars. The creatures , shrieking- Our high as mountains, peaking Through that third eye, Aroused. Longing….. to lay on that river bed of bones Beneath the muddy waters. The ghost of the skeletons moan Feeding on one another. A tribe of man. A brotherhood of murder.
