Below the Surface

[Intro] We stayin' underground (Ayy, ayy) Underground (Ayy, ayy, ayy) Underground (Ayy, ayy) [?] [Chorus] We stayin' underground, below the surface And when it come to this music, I'm fully immersed in it So don't expect me to sell out, 'cause, bro, it's not worth it The goal is make it without sellin' your soul, but I don't know, because a lot of folks don't understand I'm underground Below the surface [Verse 1] I seen 'em go and chase a bag, and they get clowned by the public All that slop-hop music they be puttin' out is redundant Every single day, there's a new artist out here claimin' they king But the same people sayin' that, their career on a string Why? Because the art form of music's gettin' lost Everybody is a rapper, but don't know about the cost It's the loss of your mental, that's a sentimental thought That's why the underground is the way I rather go about it 'Cause the major leagues be suckin' the life out of their artists That's why everybody up and comin' never see their harvest 'Cause the mainstream don't care about your lyrics or your beat As long as they get the bread, they don't care if you eat It's unfortunate, we went from spittin' bars to TikTok We went from Nas to Lil Nas, what a big flop We went from hip-hop to slop-hop, but that's not us We stay underground, y'all stay on top, look [Chorus] We stayin' underground, below the surface And when it come to this music, I'm fully immersed in it So don't expect me to sell out, 'cause, bro, it's not worth it The goal is make it without sellin' your soul, but I don't know, because a lot of folks don't understand I'm underground Below the surface [Verse 2] Okay, the art form of music's gettin' lost Everybody is a rapper, but don't know about the cost It's the loss of your mental, that's a sentimental thought That's why the underground is the way I rather go about it The major leagues be suckin' the life out of their artists That's why everybody up and comin' never see their harvest 'Cause the mainstream don't care about your lyrics or your beat As long as they get the bread, they don't care if you eat It's unfortunate, we went from spittin' bars to TikTok We went from Nas to Lil Nas, what a big flop We went from hip-hop to slop-hop, but that's not us We stay underground, y'all stay on top, look [Chorus] We stayin' underground, below the surface And when it come to this music, I'm fully immersed in it So don't expect me to sell out, 'cause, bro, it's not worth it The goal is make it without sellin' your soul, but I don't know, because a lot of folks don't understand I'm underground Below the surface [Verse 3] Man, look I seen 'em go and chase a bag, and they get clowned by the public All that slop-hop music they be puttin' out is redundant Every single day, there's a new artist out here claimin' they king But the same people sayin' that, their career on a string 'Cause the art form of music's gettin' lost Everybody is a rapper, but don't know about the cost It's the loss of your mental, that's a sentimental thought That's why the underground is the way I rather go about it The major leagues be suckin' the life out of their artists That's why everybody up and comin' never see their harvest 'Cause the mainstream don't care about your lyrics or your beat As long as they get the bread, they don't care if you eat It's unfortunate, we went from spittin' bars to TikTok We went from Nas to Lil Nas, what a big flop We went from hip-hop to slop-hop, but that's not us We stay underground, y'all stay on top, look [Bridge] Underground, underground Below the surface And when it come to this music, I'm fully immersed in it So don't expect me to sell out, 'cause, bro, it's not worth it The goal is make it without sellin' your soul, but I don't
