FRANK 015 – The Creature on the Glacier | Frankenstein
(Verse 1) Across the Mer de Glace he climbed beneath the height, While peaks of frozen granite burned cold beneath the light. Then something vast came striding where fractured glaciers spread, And Victor knew the figure that filled his heart with dread. (Verse 2) The Creature crossed the fissures with steps no man could go, A giant moving swiftly across the ancient snow. Then Victor cursed the being and wished that he were dead, While hatred for creation like poison filled his head. (Chorus) They faced each other frozen where ice became their ground, The maker and the made one with no one else around. The Creature asked for justice, demanded he should hear, And Victor faced the voice of everything he feared. (Verse 3) He called his maker guilty for giving life its flame, Then casting him to darkness without a home or name. He spoke not as a monster but one who knew disgrace, And demanded that his maker should listen to his case. (Verse 4) He told of bitter suffering, abandonment and pain, Of hatred born from kindness rejected yet again. Before he judged his creature, one duty must be done, The father had to listen to the story of his son. (Chorus) They faced each other frozen where ice became their ground, The maker and the made one with no one else around. The Creature asked for justice, demanded he should hear, And Victor faced the voice of everything he feared. (Bridge) He asked the man who made him what duty life was owed, Then led him from the glacier towards a cold abode. Though Victor burned with hatred, he followed at his word, For even rage fell silent when misery must be heard. (Outro) Beyond the ice and mountains another tale would start, The Creature would uncover the wounds within his heart. The monster Victor hated would lift another veil, And judgement would be waiting until he heard the tale.
