14–Before I Am Reborn

I can feel the old life ending. Not all at once. But enough to know I’m changing. There’s a silence before the rise A final look through tired eyes At everything I used to be Before I set that version free I see the anger, see the fear See the years I disappeared See the man who carried storms Until his soul forgot its form I don’t hate him, not today He kept me breathing in his way He made mistakes, he built some walls But he still answered every call Before I am reborn, I kneel Not from weakness, but to feel Every wound I tried to hide Before I leave that skin behind I’m not running from my past I’m saying goodbye at last Not erased, not ignored Just not my home anymore Before I am reborn I face what I became I hold every scar And I call each one by name Before I am reborn I thank the broken me For carrying the weight Until I learned to be free This is not a clean escape Not a mask, not a new face Not pretending I was never torn That’s not how a soul’s reborn You don’t rise by hiding pain You rise by walking through the flame You rise by looking in the glass And making peace with every past So I gather every broken piece Every loss, every release Every fight, every goodbye Every time I questioned why I bring it all into the dawn Nothing wasted, nothing gone The man I was, the man I’ll be Both are standing here with me Rebirth is not forgetting. It is remembering without bleeding the same way. Before I am reborn I face what I became I hold every scar And I call each one by name Before I am reborn I thank the broken me For carrying the weight Until I learned to be free The ashes are not the ending. They are the proof that something survived.
