I don’t want a talka’, I want a lantern in the law, so the law can see its shadow when it’s standing over all, build me a nation like a circle, no ceiling, no floor, no king in the middle, just a million open doors, gold like the sun in the heart of the sign, blue for the thought where tomorrow is designed, green for the seed with a century inside, white for the law saying nobody can hide, freedom is a falcon but famine breaks feathers, so bread ain’t a chain, it’s the weather that lets us fly together, give the child books like keys to invisible rooms, give the sick healing without debt in the wound, let money move like rain, don’t dam it behind walls, let markets make sparks but never write the laws, invisible hands become visible fists when wealth buys a voice and the powerless whisper, so make every ledger glass, every contract clear, if power fears sunlight then bring the sun near, birth is a dice roll, postcode, passport, payroll, some get a staircase, some get a locked door labelled “same road,” that ain’t merit, that’s inheritance in a medal, privilege on a pedestal preaching that struggle makes you special, give everybody soil, not identical flowers, equal rain, equal light, then let difference find its powers, equality ain’t making every ending align, it’s fixing the crooked beginning of the line, knowledge is compass, never a crown, experts can map but the people choose the town, facts show the current but people steer the ship, and if the law becomes an anchor then cut it from the grip, democracy ain’t one day with a ballot then silence, it’s voices in the streets turning pressure into guidance, bring power close enough to hear the pavement speak, but keep human rights where no majority can reach, tomorrow has no lobbyist, no money, no vote, yet every poisoned river leaves a sentence in its throat, so plant a tree whose shade you’ll never know, that’s civilization, loving who you’ll never live to know, care ain’t weakness, care is concrete becoming shelter, a bridge arguing with gravity, a hospital light burning after midnight, a classroom cracking inherited silence, no saviors, no statues standing higher than the constitution, let journalism thunder, let science bring the proof in, let artists throw smoke through the banquet halls of kings, let courts be lighthouses shining equally on everything, liberty with roots, justice with eyes, markets with shores, government with skylights, science as compass, culture as memory, nature as inheritance, care as civic geometry, society ain’t machinery, it’s ecology, polyphony, millions of different frequencies finding social harmony, so don’t ask me left or right, market or state, ask if the child stands taller, if the sick breathe straight, if the worker owns tomorrow, if corruption loses air, if power casts less shadow, if dignity lives there, if yes then build, if no then repair, flags are cloth, palaces stone, laws are ink when they stand alone, a nation becomes real when its people can share, power becomes human when it learns how to care, Civic Humanism, the People of Care.
