Burning Up

[INTRO] [DRY DRUM BEAT] [CHUGGING ELECTRIC GUITAR] [LOW BASS GROOVE] One, two... One, two, three, four... [VERSE 1] I saw her leaning on a Cadillac Outside the liquor store Red shoes tapping on the pavement Like she'd done this all before She said, "Hey, where you going?" I said, "Anywhere but here" She smiled like she knew something Then she whispered in my ear [PRE-CHORUS] Come a little closer Don't you make me wait There's something in the way she moves That makes a good man hesitate [CHORUS] BURNING UP Every time she walks by BURNING UP Lord, I don't know why She don't say much She don't have to One little look And I'm already through BURNING UP Yeah... I'm burning up [GUITAR RIFF] [VERSE 2] She climbed into the passenger side Put her feet up on the dash Said, "You always drive this slow?" I put my foot down on the gas Radio was playing Some old song I couldn't place She was drawing little circles On the window with her hand I said, "Where am I taking you?" She said, "Baby, don't you care?" Then she turned and looked right at me And I forgot we were going anywhere [CHORUS] BURNING UP Every time she walks by BURNING UP Lord, I don't know why She don't say much She don't have to One little look And I'm already through BURNING UP Whoa... I'm burning up [INSTRUMENTAL] [CHUGGING GUITAR] [HARMONICA] [DRUMS AND BASS LOCK INTO GROOVE] [VERSE 3] Three in the morning At the edge of town Engine still running But we ain't moving now She says, "You think too much" I say, "Maybe you're right" She reaches over Turns off the headlights [BREAK] [DRUMS AND GUITAR ONLY] Well... Maybe I should leave Maybe I should run Maybe I should know better... But where's the fun? [CHORUS] BURNING UP Every time she walks by BURNING UP Lord, I don't know why She don't say much She don't have to One little look And I'm already through BURNING UP [BACKGROUND] Burning up!
