Rip City Rise Portland and the people who live here all deserve to thrive. There's No justice or peace... Portland can't even Rest In Peace until there's justice for the destruction. Bit by bit, piece by piece, they tore it down— what used to be a laid-back, "you do your thing and I'll do mine" in what was once a chill and laid back town. And what was can’t simply be again until the heart of this city is repaired, until the hearts of the people are no longer living in despair. We’ve got Timbers— like trees, they’re fallin’. The Blazers, the Fire— still hot, still burnin’. Rip City, torn and tattered. Rest in peace, Portland— when did they decide you never mattered? I still don’t know how they thought defunding the cops was supposed to bring relief. We watched it all unfold in disbelief. Bullets flew. People fell. Neighborhoods changed. Fear bound us. They ran the streets in 2020, 'cause nobody could tell them no, like chaos was a game and Portland was the show. What a shame! Now they think they’ve got us at their command— But hold up. Wait just a minute. Here’s our list of demands: Give this City of Pity another chance. Don’t let the peacocks strut and advance. Don’t rank a single one of them just because they talk real grand. Listen to the people who actually live on this land. We want safe neighborhoods. We want cops on their beats. We want the homeless housed. We want drugs off the streets. And the addicts? They deserve a chance to come alive. A real chance to heal, to recover, to survive. Free from the chains that addiction has tied. Free from the hunger that eats them inside. Free from the grip that keeps pulling them under. Free from the fear. Free from the mayhem. Free from wondering if they’ll make it to tomorrow. Because a city can’t heal by ignoring its sorrow. Portland needs more than slogans and blame. It needs courage. Accountability. People willing to change. So piece by piece, bit by bit, maybe we build back what they tried to strip. Not the Portland that lives only in memory— but a city where people can walk their streets and feel free. A city with compassion that still knows right from wrong. A city battered and bruised— but not gone. Rip City. Stand up. Rebuild. Carry on.
