😃THE TOWN THAT FRETTED FEELING DOWN😃 Deep in the town that fretted feeling down, Everyone keeps fake smiles, tipping fake crowns. Deep in this town, the sad sweat feelings out, Everyone that remains smiling, kept walking around. But over by the fence, where the sunflowers sway free, Stood an odd child, quiet faced, braced against a tree... He won't talk to anybody, He's quietly waiting... Take a stroll down any street, You'll see kids in crowds, gathering. Shake hands with strangers in town you meet, Constant compliments given and received. Anyone who stops grinning, simply stops existing, Kids without sympathy keeping everyone happy... The saddest end up underneath our feet. We love everything... Nothing here will make us scream. Only happy things... Smile or end up underneath... Deep in this town that fretted feeling down, People keep forced vibes spreading around. They stay away from misery's melodic sound. Deep in this town that fretted feeling down. You'll see kids listening to every sound. No matter what happens... No matter how profound... Always remain laughing, Never let your tears out. (Deep in this town...) (Forced smiles stick around...) (Deep in this town...) (Tragedy stays underground...) I've looked into their faces, Nothing resides behind those dead gazes. Only silent complacency, always waiting, No light, no bright, just two burned out lights constantly staring... There's no kids in the nurseries, No kids in the schools, No kids on the playgrounds, Doesn't that seem odd to you? They show up in screams, In fights, worries, and fears, Stay glowing, keep smiling, Or they will appear... Every yearly festival, with the moon far and out... With every child in town, kept safe in a church lockdown... The adults around raved, drinking through the night... Spirits high, not a soul heard their shrill screams or cries... The town awoke the very next day... Not a sound in the smoke of the church's remains. Parents cried as they buried their secrets away... Swaddles of charred small bones in a burlap grave. Time passed as the town learned to laugh, But buried secrets in ash came back... Now they must smile... Or down they will be dragged. Deep in this town that fretted feeling down, Forced vibes keep being screamed around. They stay away from misery's melodic sound. Deep in this town that fretted feeling down. Kids exist a half inch from you now... Listening to every breath... Every sound... Remain happy... Or be dragged beneath the ground. (Deep in this town...) (Forced smiles stick around...) (Deep in this town...) (They're listening for every sound...) (Half an inch away...) (Every breath you take...) Remain happy... ...or be dragged beneath the ground.
