MERCY 001 – The Day The Sirens Died | The Mercy

(Verse 1) He left his coffee cooling by the window light, While traffic crawled beneath an ordinary sky so bright. She checked the school bell ringing through the morning rain, And no one knew the world would never breathe again. (Verse 2) The sirens woke at crossing gates and city walls, They climbed through towers, stations, courts, and shopping halls. Their warning broke mid-cry above the crowded street, Then every running heart forgot its final beat. (Chorus) The day the sirens died, the living heard no sound, The White came down like silence falling on the ground. No judgement spoke, no angel crossed the burning sky, The world stood still and did not understand why. (Verse 3) He saw the traffic lights turn pale and bleed to white, While office glass forgot the shape of noon and night. She felt one breath held tight behind her open eyes, As colour left the world beneath the blinded skies. (Verse 4) The phones kept calling rooms where no one could reply, The radios gave static to the empty sky. The sirens failed in alleys where the shadows fled, And cities filled with quiet while the Paled stood dead. (Chorus) The day the sirens died, the living heard no sound, The White came down like silence falling on the ground. No judgement spoke, no angel crossed the burning sky, The world stood still and did not understand why. (Bridge) They found no chosen mark upon the ones who stayed, No holy line divided those who lived and paled. The sirens had no answer for the mercy shown, They only died in streets where every name was stone. (Outro) So still the dead remain where final moments lie, In homes and halls beneath the colourless sky. And those who lived remember how the warnings cried, Before the White came down, the day the sirens died.
