THE TRIAL OF THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE CASE FILE #001 THE PEOPLE VERSUS. DOCTOR STEVEN STRANGE “THE MAN WHO NEGOTIATED WITH INFINITY” PROSECUTOR: “Members of the Court… Before we begin, let us acknowledge the truth that makes this case difficult. Doctor Stephen Strange is not a monster. He is not a conqueror. He is not a man seeking power for his own glory. He is a healer. A protector. A man who repeatedly looked into the face of impossible odds and chose to act when others could not. And that is precisely why we are here. Because sometimes the greatest dangers to existence do not come from those who wish to destroy it. Sometimes they come from those who believe they are the only ones capable of saving it.” ⸻ “Stephen Strange began his journey as a man who believed his own intelligence made him untouchable. A brilliant surgeon. A master of precision. A man who trusted his hands more than anything else. Then life humbled him. And the universe revealed something greater. That there were forces beyond his understanding. Time. Reality. The very fabric of existence itself. But instead of walking away from that power… he accepted the responsibility of wielding it.” ⸻ “Let the record show: Doctor Strange saved countless lives. He stood against Dormammu. He defended Earth from interdimensional threats. He helped defeat Thanos. He sacrificed personal happiness for the survival of billions. No reasonable person can deny his heroism. But this court is not examining his intentions. This court is examining consequences.” ⸻ “Exhibit One: The Time Stone. A power capable of bending the natural order. Doctor Strange used it to confront an enemy who could not be defeated through conventional means. A necessary decision? Perhaps. A heroic decision? Without question. But every time reality is altered… a door is opened. And once that door exists… someone else may eventually walk through it.” ⸻ “Exhibit Two: The fourteen million possible futures. Doctor Strange looked beyond the present and witnessed countless outcomes. He discovered one path where victory was possible. But consider the burden of such knowledge. When one person believes they understand the only successful outcome… does choice remain? Or does destiny become something that must be engineered?” ⸻ “Exhibit Three: The events surrounding Peter Parker. A young hero asked for help. A mistake occurred. A spell designed to solve a personal problem threatened the boundaries between realities. Again, Doctor Strange acted with compassion. Again, his intentions were noble. But the Multiverse does not measure intentions. It responds to actions.” ⸻ “Exhibit Four: Dreamwalking. The crossing of consciousness between realities. A practice considered forbidden because of the danger it creates. Doctor Strange understood the risks. He knew the consequences. And yet, when the moment came… he crossed the line.” ⸻ “Members of the Court… We are not here because Doctor Strange lacked courage. We are here because he possessed so much confidence in his ability to solve impossible problems that he repeatedly stepped beyond limits established to protect reality itself.” ⸻ DEFENSE: “Objection. The prosecution HIGHLIGHTS every impossible choice as evidence of arrogance. But let us remember the circumstances. When the universe needed someone to act… Doctor Strange acted. When billions were threatened… he did not stand aside. When others saw no path forward… he searched for one.” ⸻ “You cannot condemn a man for saving lives because the universe became more complicated afterward. A firefighter who enters a burning building does not cause the fire. A doctor who performs a risky surgery does not create the disease. Doctor Strange did not create the Multiverse’s instability. He inherited a universe already filled with threats beyond comprehension.” ⸻ PROSECUTOR: “And yet, every fracture requires a point of weakness. Every collapse begins with a decision. The question before this court is not: ‘Was Doctor Strange a hero?’ He was. The question is: ‘Can even heroes create consequences they cannot control?’” ⸻ “Doctor Stephen Strange stands accused not of evil… but of believing that responsibility gave him permission. He is the man who looked into infinity… and believed he could bargain with it.” ⸻ FINAL ASSESSMENT: “Doctor Strange is not the architect of the Multiverse’s collapse. But he may be one of the reasons the walls between realities became fragile enough to fall.” ⸻ VERDICT: “Contributing Cause.” “Not guilty of destroying the Multiverse… but responsible for repeatedly challenging the boundaries that held it together.” ⸻ “Case File #001 concluded. The Court will proceed.”
