[Verse 1] Ashur šarru rabû, ilum dannu, ina šamê u erseti šuklulu, qarrādu ellu, ṣēdu ša melammu, šūtītu kussû, bēl dannu u napišti. (Translation: “Ashur, great king, mighty god, / perfect in heaven and earth, / noble warrior, hunter of radiance, / seated in glory, lord of strength and life.”) [Chant 1] Niginu ilāni, ezzû ēkalla, nibītu šamê, ša pāni šadî, uštēšu dannu, napšattu elû, Ashur, bēlu ēpuš ṣiḫṭi. (Translation: “Crown of the gods, flame of the temple, / lightning of heaven, face of the mountain, / his breath is force, his spirit exalted, / Ashur, lord who crafts fate.”) [Verse 2] Ḫurāṣu ina qātīšu, uṣurtu kīma šūlû tēpuš, šēpušu īdeš nadītu ezzê, kabtu libbi, lā ša naḫrāti. (Translation: “Gold is in his hands, / destiny he shapes like clay, / his foot knows the path of fire, / heavy is his heart, not swayed by rivers.”) [Chant 2] Ashur, ša qerbi ellû, elû bēl mummu, ina šīmtī šaknu, idû nāš pišti. (Translation: “Ashur, whose core is pure, / high lord of creation, / planted in fate, / knower of the bearer of truth.”) [Verse 3] Ullūdu šadî, dannu kakkabu, nāqid ilāni, šumšu lā ittamû, kāšu ezzû, qurbūtu libbi, malku ina ṣēri, dārû epēšu. (Translation: “Born of mountains, mighty star, / leader of gods, his name undying, / his cup burns, sacred is the heart, / the king in battle, eternal in deed.”) [Chant 3] Meluḫḫu ūmu issakkuru, šuršud libbi ina sūqi, Ashur īmu šadû, šapšu libbi ana nīši. (Translation: “Meluhha trembles at his day, / thunder of the heart in the street, / Ashur roars like the mountain, / his sun is a heart upon the people.”) [Verse 4] Ina ṣēri tappûš kīma šāri, bēl ūmē, bēl narkabti, riksu ilāni, bēl epēši, ṣalimtu ina qibīšu. (Translation: “In battle he flies like a wind, / lord of days, master of the chariot, / bond of the gods, lord of deeds, / peace lies in his command.”) [Chant 4] Ezzû, dannu, kabtu šumšu, Ashur, ša mātāti, ša napišti, rāmûtu bēl qerbi, šarru dārû ina nūrī. (Translation: “Bright, strong, heavy is his name, / Ashur of the lands, of the living, / beloved lord of the inner heart, / eternal king in light.”)
