[Intro: swirling backwards guitar loop fading into sitar drone] [Verse 1] Marmalade clouds above the town Yellow bicycles turning round Grandmother's clock runs upside down Nobody notices, nobody frowns [Verse 2] Tangerine cat upon the wall Whistling through the carnival Kaleidoscope windows, spinning slow Nobody asked me where to go [Chorus] Oh, kaleidoscope kitchen, colors in the steam Every cup of tea's a different dream Oh, kaleidoscope kitchen, spinning 'round the sun Nothing here is finished, everything's begun [Instrumental Break: phased sitar and mellotron swirl, backwards tape loop, 10 seconds] [Verse 3] Paisley rain on paper boats Purple smoke from teapot spouts Grandfather's watch has learned to fly Nobody thought to wonder why [Bridge] Round and round the garden goes Nobody knows, nobody knows Colors melting into sound Everything is upside down [Chorus] Oh, kaleidoscope kitchen, colors in the steam Every cup of tea's a different dream Oh, kaleidoscope kitchen, spinning 'round the sun Nothing here is finished, everything's begun [Sound Collage: brief backwards vocal fragment layered with tape hiss] (reversed, dreamlike) "...maerd a llits si sihT" [Final Verse] Someday soon I'll wake up right Find the kitchen bathed in light But 'til then I'll stay and stir This spinning cup of gossamer [Outro: harmonized "aah's" swirling with sitar drone and phased strings, fading slowly]
