Title: Roxi-Band: Studio: Orion in the Pocket
[PROLOGUE] [JILL]: (Deep bass pulse; warm funk figure against distant sub.) [LIZ]: (One smoky harmonica breath.) Computer. How fast does this thing go? SEPHYR-GLEN: (Processed voice.) Fast enough. ROXI: Good answer. [INTRO] [MILFRED]: (Tribal toms become a tight DnB break.) SEPHYR-GLEN: (Rhodes chords; soft trance pulse underneath.) [JILL]: (Elastic bass locks between funk pocket and rolling sub.) ROXI: Push it. [VERSE 1] ROXI: (Cool rhythmic rap.) Left Earth carrying coffee and trouble, stars in the glass, bass making it double. Orion ahead with that dangerous grin, one look saying, “You really coming in?” Red light blinking but nobody runs, Milfred got sixteenths under the drums. Jill leaves space where the low notes breathe, Liz blows smoke through the machinery. No panic. No heroic pose. Just somebody dancing where the captain normally goes. [HOOK] ROXI: (Soul-funk melody.) Warp that beat— but keep it cool. Ride that bass, don't drown the room. Orion calling, here we go— little bit faster, never lose the soul. [JILL]: (Low funk slide into rolling DnB pulse.) [VERSE 2] ROXI: (Bluesy sung-rap.) She said, “Don't trust that smile you see.” I said, “That's exactly why it works on me.” One green glance, one sideways sway, suddenly the sensible plan went away. Not because the stars went mad, not because the night turned bad— just one dangerous little invitation and very questionable navigation. [LIZ]: (Short harmonica laugh.) That one. [BREAK — SOUL TO TRIBAL] [MILFRED]: (DnB drops to half-time; hand drums and floor tom.) SEPHYR-GLEN: (Hammond growl, then suddenly a wild barrelhouse piano run.) Sephyr! SEPHYR-GLEN: (One outrageous piano flourish, then a perfectly calm Rhodes chord.) [JILL]: (Bass resumes the pocket.) [RAP] ROXI: Computer, are we meant to do this? SEPHYR-GLEN: (Processed alien voice.) State your purpose. SEPHYR-GLEN: That is not a mission. ROXI: Depends who's counting. [JILL]: (Three deep notes; rest.) ROXI: Advanced diplomacy. ;) [TRANCE RISE] [MILFRED]: (True DnB break returns, crisp and controlled.) SEPHYR-GLEN: (Warm trance arpeggio rises beneath Hammond.) [LIZ]: (Harmonica holds a blues note across the electronic lift.) ROXI: (Soulful, climbing.) Take us somewhere we haven't named. Keep the groove human when the stars get strange. ROXI: Surprise me. [FINAL HOOK] ROXI: (Gospel-tinted stacked vocals; powerful but relaxed.) Warp that beat— keep it alive. Soul in the engine, funk in the drive. Tribal feet, blue-note glow, Orion laughing— here we go. Fast drums running, deep bass slow, trance light rising under the soul. No need to shake the whole damn sky. Just make it move. [JILL]: (Deep melodic bass answer.) ROXI: There you go. [OUTRO] [MILFRED]: (Breakbeat dissolves into hand percussion.) SEPHYR-GLEN: (Loose bright piano figure, almost country-bar cheerful.) [JILL]: (One low note.) ROXI: Thank God somebody kept the bass serious. :D [LIZ]: (Tiny harmonica wink.) SEPHYR-GLEN: (Final playful piano tumble.) [END]
