About fifteen minutes been drifting away, You could hear a pin fall, in our shadows of defeat. I stare out the window, where the sun retreats, Twilight is creeping, a harbinger of looming night. The weight of our burden begins to seep, And cloaks us both in the fading light. [Verse 2] What made us drift to these barren shores, Where poisoned roots now hold us apart? My pleading words, they don't reach you anymore, We're out of tune, misaligned at heart. It's like we're walking at the edge of a fragile abyss, And each step we take forms glassy cracks. All of a sudden, the surface is trembling, With shards breaking loose in disorderly pacts. [Chorus] And the splinters take flight and get lodged in my skin, Piercing so deep, sowing sorrow within.
