Title - All I Do Is Watch You Artist - Unusual Marsupials Year - 2019 ____________ The 2019 indie rock hit, "All I Do Is Watch You" was a surprise from a band with an unlikely past. Unusual Marsupials was once known for their brutal death metal sound, but they made a radical, and ultimately triumphant, pivot. The song's success proved that their unique fusion of quiet introspection and explosive, almost violent, energy was perfectly suited for their new sound, earning them critical acclaim and a massive new fanbase. ____________ Lamp shade paints the ceiling A dulled silhouette My edges start to soften Dissolving into you And I feel my thinking slow down To a water-logged crawl While you stand inside the doorway A fire against the wall And all I do is watch you All I do is watch you now... My limbs are architectural Just angles in a chair I'm breathing in the static That's hanging in the air And you're a flashbulb memory A photograph that's bent A perfect, burning image Of what was never sent And all I do is watch you All I do is watch you now... AND YOU BLOOM! A SUPERNOVA IN MY ROOM! YOU TEAR THE QUIET, START A FIRE A HURRICANE OF WHITE HOT LIGHT! AND YOU IGNITE! AND BURN AWAY THE BOREDOM OF THE NIGHT! YOU'RE KERO-SENE, A VIOLENT GREEN THE PRETTIEST DESTRUCTION I HAVE EVER SEEN! (ALL I DO!) (IS WATCH YOU!) (ALL I DO!) (IS WATCH YOU NOW!) (ALL I DO!) (IS WATCH YOU!) (ALL I DO!) (IS WATCH YOU NOW!)
