[Verse 1] I saw Him walking through the crowd, I saw the sorrow in His eyes, And though the voices rose around Him, He never spoke of why. What kind of love would take Him there, What kind of heart could take the fall? While we were looking at a cross, He was looking at us all. [Chorus] Why did He walk this road? Why did He bear the cost alone? What did He know that I didn't know? What kind of love brought Him here? [Verse 2] It was His love that looked upon our sin And loved us in spite of our flaws No greater love than the love that led Him To make us His dying's cause The price that He paid on that old rugged cross Secured a glorious reward Now we can be freed from the burden of sin Thanks to the love of our Lord. [Bridge] I was a witness at Calvary I saw love that wouldn't die I was with the crowd, when Jesus Later rose into the sky. [Final Chorus] Now I know why He walked that road, And bore that cost alone. He had the kind of love That would conquer sin And give us a pathway home. [Outro] He gives us a pathway home....
