The Mire-Ghast Of Port Laveau

V6

Long ago in Port Laveau, A trapper made a deal below "Fill my traps and feed me well, I'll pay my debt when midnight quells." The swamp gave more than any man should take, But come that night, he tried to escape. Black water rose, dragged him down What came back up still walks around. First comes the howl... Then comes the laugh... Then something starts moving Down the old swamp path... Mire-Ghast! Mire-Ghast! Run like hell, he's coming fast! Through the cypress, through the black, Once he sees you, don't look back! Lock that door and kill that light, The Mire-Ghast haunts Port Laveau tonight! Now when the frogs and crickets stop, And white fog crawls across the bog, Old folks know what's coming near Young fools laugh and disappear. Mud-grey skin and eyes that shine, Needle teeth and a crooked spine. You might hear him call your name But don't you answer. That's his game. First comes the howl... Then comes the laugh... Then something starts running Down the old swamp path... Mire-Ghast! Mire-Ghast! Run like hell, he's coming fast! Through the cypress, through the black, Once he sees you, don't look back! Lock that door and kill that light, The Mire-Ghast haunts Port Laveau tonight! What if the swamp goes quiet? RUN LIKE HELL! What if you hear him laughing? RUN LIKE HELL! What if something calls your name? Don't answer. MIRE-GHAST! MIRE-GHAST! RUN LIKE HELL, HE'S COMING FAST! Through the cypress, through the black, Once he sees you, don't look back! He broke his word, The swamp took hold Now the Mire-Ghast comes To collect what's owed! Lock that door and kill that light THE MIRE-GHAST HAUNTS PORT LAVEAU TONIGHT! First comes the howl... Then comes the laugh... Run like hell. Just remember... First comes the howl... Then comes the laugh... Then something starts running Down the old swamp path... You better run like hell.
