The Tears Freeze First

V6

Verse 1 Snow is falling quietly, covering every trace. She walks between the trees, with winter on her face. The forest gets darker with every step she takes. No lights behind her. No voices calling her name. Just frozen branches scratching at the sky, and the sound of her footsteps slowly fading into white. Verse 2 She walks deeper. Deeper than she planned. The snow reaches her ankles. Her fingers have gone numb. She pulls her coat around her, but the cold is already inside. She doesn't know what hurts more anymore— the freezing air or everything she's carrying. Pre-Chorus A tear slips down her cheek. She doesn't wipe it away. The cold touches it before her hand can. And somehow even her tears hurt now. Chorus She's crying quietly in the middle of nowhere. The tears freeze against her skin. The wind tears through her hair. She whispers, "I can't do this anymore." But the forest doesn't answer. The trees don't move for her. The snow keeps falling like nothing ever happened. And she keeps walking because she doesn't know where else to go. Verse 3 Her breath disappears into the midnight air. She stops beneath the branches and looks up at the sky. Everything is white. Everything is cold. Everything is silent. She thinks about all the mornings she forced herself to wake up. All the times she said, "I'm okay." All the times she wasn't. Bridge She sits down in the snow. Her knees pulled against her chest. Her face buried in her sleeves. And finally, she lets herself cry. Not loudly. Just broken little breaths between trembling lips. As if even her sadness is too tired to make a sound. Chorus She's crying quietly in the middle of the forest. Her tears burn against her skin before the cold takes them away. She whispers, "I don't want to keep pretending." And the words disappear between the trees. No one hears her. No one knows she's there. Only the snow keeps falling. Verse 4 She looks at her hands. They are shaking. She tries to stand, but her legs feel heavy. For a moment she simply stays there, surrounded by trees that seem taller than the sky. And she realizes how tired a person can become without making a sound. Chorus She's crying in the darkness, but the darkness doesn't cry back. The forest is endless. The night is unbearably cold. She closes her eyes and listens to the wind. Not because she has found peace. Not because everything is over. Just because, for one moment, she doesn't have the strength to fight the silence. And somewhere far beyond the trees, the world keeps moving without knowing how badly she's hurting. Outro Snow covers her footprints. The wind erases the path. Her tears keep falling, one after another, hurting against her frozen skin. And beneath the winter sky, she whispers one last sentence into the empty forest— "I wish someone knew how tired I am." The forest says nothing. Only the wind answers. (ahaaaa)
