[verse1] Seven o'clock the working day is finally dead and gone Traded in my tired shoes for a rhythm to lean on I can hear the city calling through my window pane A steady pulse a low hum getting ready for the rain Yeah the rain of good times pouring down on me tonight Gotta catch that feeling gotta step into the light C'mon! [pre_chorus] (Yeah!) Feel the pressure start to build now, buzzing in my brain (Ooh!) Every single streetlight screaming out my name! C'mon and go! [chorus] Tonight we burn these streets down with a funky, fiery sound! Let the rhythm take your trouble and spin it to the ground! Yeah! We're dancing through the madness until the night gives way! Living for the weekend, living for today! Oh yeah! [verse2] Pushed through the doorway met a wall of heat and sound Bassline grabbing hold of me and spinning me around A sea of moving bodies all escaping from the grind Leaving all the static and the noise so far behind No time for conversation gotta move to the beat Lose myself completely in the groovy, funky heat! Alright! [pre_chorus] (Yeah!) Feel the pressure start to build now, buzzing in my brain (Ooh!) Every single streetlight screaming out my name! Let's go! [chorus] Tonight we burn these streets down with a funky, fiery sound! Let the rhythm take your trouble and spin it to the ground! Yeah! We're dancing through the madness until the night gives way! Living for the weekend, living for today! Oh yeah! [bridge] (Ad-libs: Uh! C'mon! Yeah!) This is more than just a party, it's a saving grace! This is the one and only time and the only place! Where the music is the answer and the question fades away! (Ad-libs: Can you feel it?! Ooh!) [chorus_outro] Tonight we burn these streets down with a funky, fiery sound! Let the rhythm take your trouble and spin it to the ground! (Ad-libs: Yeah! Spin it!) Dancing through the madness until the night gives way! (Ad-libs: Every night! Oh!) Living for the weekend, living for today! (Ad-libs: Gotta live for today!) Oh yeah! Alright! (Ad-libs: Woo!) Keep on dancing! (Ad-libs: C'mon!) Funky groove now! (Ad-libs: One more time!)
