[Narrator, male, warm storyteller] The evening spread across the road, The wind grew sharp and thin. The travelers moved without a name, And stories crept back in. A whisper crossed from hill to town, From doorway into ear, Of armored shapes and silent steps That no one saw too clear. [Steve, male, concerned, humble] They’re just people walking with me. We’re moving my things to Catnatic. [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] But stories rarely travel straight, They bend as they are told. Each voice that shared what they had seen Made something new and old. A shape appeared where none had stood, A meaning in the air, And soon the road became a tale Of figures everywhere. [Hero, male, confident] So the realm already knows our name! [Steve, male, concerned, humble] No— that’s not a name. That’s just you carrying chairs. [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] The first report came soft at dusk, From traveler passing through. A house had moved without a sound, Its owner moving too. Then others spoke of borrowed halls, Of burdens lifted free, Of cloaked ones walking door to door As if they held decree. [Passerby, unsure] I saw them leave with an entire home… and the man just followed after. [Steve, male, concerned, humble] Yes. Because I live there. [Hero, male, determined] A loyal steward guiding fate! [Steve, male, concerned, humble] I am not guiding fate. [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] The words began to stack and grow, Each telling more intense. A helper became an unseen force, A presence at the fence. The simplest acts of lifting wood Turned into sacred charge, And ordinary evening work Appeared disturbingly large. [Heroes, male group, intrigued] Clawed ones… unseen custodians… carriers of the wandering home… [Steve, male, frustrated but calm] That is literally just us packing up my tent. [Heroes, male group, firm] A sacred relocation rite! [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] Steve stood quiet on the road, The wind across his sleeve. He watched the world reinterpret all The things he tried to leave. And somewhere far behind his words The meaning slipped away, As truth became a softer thing No longer in display. [Steve, male, quietly tired] Why does it always turn into something else… [Hero, male, confident] Because the realm has chosen meaning! [Steve, male, concerned, humble] I didn’t. [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] The rumor now had found its feet, It walked from gate to gate. A story of the clawed ones Who never hesitated. They entered homes without alarm, Then left without a trace, And carried every life they touched To somewhere else in place. [Chorus, male group, growing intensity] Clawed ones… Clawed ones… walk where no story ends… Clawed ones… Clawed ones… who never break, but bend… [Steve, male, concerned, humble] We are not bending anything. We are moving a bed. [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] The road grew long behind them now, And longer still ahead. And Steve kept walking in their wake Of words he never said. He looked once more toward Catnatic’s line, Then lowered tired eyes, While legends formed from simple steps Beneath an ordinary sky. [Steve, male, quietly resigned] I just wanted help moving… [Heroes, male group, fading into belief] The Clawed Ones carry destiny! [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] And somewhere in the growing tale, The truth was still intact. But no one listening cared to hear What never sounded grand. So Steve walked on beside the myth That followed where he went… And wondered why the world refused To call it what it meant. [Final Chorus, male group, soft but certain] Clawed ones… Clawed ones… walking where the meanings bend… [Narrator, male, warm storyteller] And far behind the shifting tale, A campsite stood alone. Still waiting for a story that Would call it something known.
