The Ghost of Kilmersdon (Jack & Jill)
"They're still up on that hill, y'know..." In seventeen-ninety-seven, mate... Down in Kilmersdon so cold... A secret couple snuck away... To a grave already mold... Up on that bleedin' hill they hid Old Jack and his dead-eyed Jill But then a massive rock broke loose Crushing bones beneath the hill... Jack and Jill went up the hill To fetch a pail of water... Jack fell down and broke his crown And Jill came tumbling after! Poor Jack's skull was smashed to bits Splattered on the stones so grey... And Jill died in the childbed, mate The screaming never went away... Up Jack got... and home did trot... As fast as his ghost could caper... To old Dame Dob, who patched his knob... With rotting flesh and paper... When Jill came in, how she did grin To see Jack’s bloody plaster! Her mother whipped her 'cross her knee For laughing at Jack's disaster! "Goodnight, Jack..."
