The Many Hats (Mildred's Song) based on book on Amazon

The Many Hats (Mildred's Song) (Verse 1) There’s a closet in the hallway, filled with colors bold and bright Every brim and every feather is a beacon in the light But they aren’t just for Sunday, or the styling of the hair Every single crown she carries is a different form of prayer. (Chorus) Oh, the many hats of Mildred, doing work in Jesus' name Every time she shifts her mantle, her devotion stays the same From the kitchen to the pulpit, where the broken spirit heals She is putting on the armor, showing how the Spirit feels. Yes, she’s wearing many hats, but she’s serving just one Lord. (Verse 2) She’s a teacher in the morning, putting wisdom in the youth She’s a counselor by evening, speaking words of grace and truth She’s a mother to the community, a friend to those in lack When the heavy burdens crush them, she helps lift them off their back. (Bridge) It’s a hat of pure compassion when she listens to the cries It’s a hat of bold revival when she looks into the skies She don't sit around just waiting for the blessings to appear For without work there is no faith, so she follows God's lead. She puts on her walking shoes as she travel at our Father's speed. (Outro) So let the choir keep on singing, let the joy fill up the room For the faithful servant Mildred Jean Manning makes the desert places bloom From the prayer closet to the hall walls scriptures left and right. She knows her strength comes and might comes through God having her back. January 16th is not some average day it's a celebration of when Mildred embraced this earthly place. Just one Lord. Many hats, one faithful heart in a woman of God up to bat.
