Mark of the Beast
From the silence... Six... Six... Six... the number echoes in the bones. --- Candlelight, it flickers low Shadows dance, they seem to know A name engraved in molten flesh The age of man begins to thresh Steps so slow, yet heavy fall Like thunder through a burning hall Eyes are dead, but still they see What waits beyond eternity Six – six – six – branded deep inside A curse you wear, a fate you ride No more dawn, no morning prayer Only the beast... and poisoned air --- Skulls are stacked in silent rows Ashes rain where nothing grows The preacher’s voice is cracked and gone But still the hymn of hate plays on The ground it groans beneath our feet Each beat a slow, decaying beat In every breath, a whisper speaks Of kingdoms lost, and heaven's leaks --- Six – six – six – carved in bone and fire The beast returns, the end draws nigher No more lies, no more disguise Only smoke beneath black skies --- Rise... mark of flame... no escape... Eyes like coals... fate in chains... Kneel... as he walks... the beast remains... This is your church now... built of pain... --- Six – six – six – the end is slow It drags you down, too deep to know No angels left, no final grace Only the beast… in your place --- …he waits… …he watches… …and we all wear the mark.
