[INTRO – stomps, claps, loud sleigh bells, band hits] (Spoken, shouted) One, two, three, four… ring it! [VERSE 1] Snow keeps sticking to my old boots’ sides Breath like smoke in the yellow street lights Shop signs flicker, but the band’s still on And the whole town hums like a Christmas song Kids make halos in the frosty glass Someone slips, everybody laughs You grab my hand with a look that says “This is what we’ll remember best” [PRE-CHORUS] Kick the year dust off your shoes Turn the volume past the blues If your heart can feel that swell Get ready now, we’re gonna yell [CHORUS – big gang vocals] Ring that Christmas bell tonight Stomp-stomp, clap-clap, feeling right Shake your worries off like snow Let the good times overflow Ring that Christmas bell so loud You can hear it through the crowd If you’re here, then all is well So ring, ring, ring that Christmas bell [VERSE 2] Paper crowns on our messy hair Tinsel hanging from the old armchair Dog’s gone mad for the turkey bone Someone’s dancing with a traffic cone Radio crackles but we don’t mind We got rhythm, we got time You spin once more in your jumper red And the whole room tilts when you turn your head [PRE-CHORUS 2] Put your troubles in the snow Watch them melt in the streetlight glow If your voice still works at all Sing this line and shake the walls [CHORUS] Ring that Christmas bell tonight Stomp-stomp, clap-clap, feeling right Shake your worries off like snow Let the good times overflow Ring that Christmas bell so loud You can hear it through the crowd If you’re here, then all is well So ring, ring, ring that Christmas bell [BRIDGE – half-time, big bells, simple hook] Whoa-oh, let the snow fall down Whoa-oh, light this sleepy town Whoa-oh, let the old year go We got one last song in the glow [FINAL CHORUS – optional key change, extra ad-libs] Ring that Christmas bell tonight Stomp-stomp, clap-clap, feeling right Shake your worries off like snow Let the good times overflow Ring that Christmas bell so loud You can hear it through the crowd If you’re here, then all is well So ring, ring, ring that Christmas bell [OUTRO – band vamp on “ring that Christmas bell”, fade on gang chants]
