Lyrics by Valgrind for Iron Legacy. Intro - distant drums, horses approaching Raise the gates… Hold the reins… Ride! [Verse 1] Under the burning morning sun Twelve chariots wait for the race to run Horses restless, wheels of gold Only one will take the road The Pharaoh watches from his throne The desert waits beyond the stone The signal falls, the horses cry Twelve chariots thunder beneath the sky [Pre-Chorus] Hold the reins Don’t lose control Ride for glory Ride for gold [Chorus] Chariots of fire and sand Racing through the desert land Chariots of fire and sand Ride until the final stand Feel the thunder Hear the cry Burning wheels beneath the sky Chariots of fire and sand! Chariots of fire and sand! [Verse 2] Across the dunes the riders fly Dust and fire fill the sky Wheel against wheel, side by side No one slows, no place to hide One goes down, another falls Still the desert rider calls Faster now, the finish near There is no room left for fear [Pre-Chorus] Hold the reins Don’t lose control Ride for glory Ride for gold [Chorus] Chariots of fire and sand Racing through the desert land Chariots of fire and sand Ride until the final stand Feel the thunder Hear the cry Burning wheels beneath the sky Chariots of fire and sand! Chariots of fire and sand! [Bridge] Faster! Faster! The wheels begin to burn Faster! Faster! There’s no way to turn One road ahead One chance to win The final race… Is closing in! [Guitar solo] [Verse 3] Two chariots race beneath the sun Side by side, the final run The palace gates appear ahead Behind them lie the fallen dead One final turn, one final mile The Pharaoh rises with a smile I pull the reins and take the lead Across the line at killing speed [Final Chorus] Chariots of fire and sand Racing through the desert land Chariots of fire and sand Ride until the final stand Feel the thunder Hear the cry Burning wheels beneath the sky Chariots of fire and sand! Chariots of fire and sand! [Final Chorus] Chariots of fire and sand Racing through the desert land Chariots of fire and sand Ride until the final stand Feel the thunder Hear the cry Burning wheels beneath the sky Chariots of fire and sand! Chariots of fire and sand! Lyrics by Valgrind (Johan)
