Coffee (Half Past Eight)
"Mmm... yeah...""Watch me walk..." Long legs wrapped in a tight, fire-red pencil skirt Black leather boots, laced up just below the knee A sleeveless top, midnight black, with a plunging V Where my curves find their perfect symmetry My glossy hair, obsidian streams, flowing free (Can’t take your eyes off me...) I’m walking by, and all the eyes just stare Every head is turning, caught in my snare The rhythm of my heels, a hypnotic sound Echoing through the passage, shaking the ground Tell me, who’s the lucky one today? Who’s gonna get to play? I take a seat, a table with a view A young waitress approaches, "What can I do for you?" I look her in the eye, playful, "Well, what can you do?" We both start laughing, but the gaze is true The eye contact says more than words could do "A double cappuccino, please..." her eyes stare at while at you. "She walks away, brings the cup, sets it down so slow I’m walking by, and all the eyes just stare Every head is turning, caught in my snare The rhythm of my heels, a hypnotic sound Echoing through the passage, shaking the ground Tell me, who’s the lucky one today? I scan the room, hungry looks everywhere I laugh inside, a tiny smile I dare to share I lift my cup and find a note, hidden out of sight: "I’m off at half past eight tonight." I finish the coffee, ask for the bill, lingering there She asks if everything was good, if I liked the fare "Oh, definitely... more than I expected," I whisper low Still holding her gaze, enjoying the show I leave the cash, stand up tall, and say with a grin "See you at half past eight... let the evening begin." (Nothing beats a sweet treat with your coffee...) I’m walking by, and all the eyes just stare Every head is turning, caught in my snare The rhythm of my heels, a hypnotic sound Echoing through the passage, shaking the ground Tell me, who’s the lucky one today? Who’s gonna get to play? "Half past eight..." "Don't be late..." "I love to have something sweet with my coffee..."
