[Spoken Introduction] Over the next month she also met the entire crew. There was only one she worried about, the one they introduced as "Spook." They had chosen that name well. Spook kept to himself and didn't say much, She felt as if he was watching her, waiting for her to do something wrong. When he finally said something to her, it nearly scared her to death. [Verse 1] She had been doing one of the minor tasks, she could do once she was able. They didn't force anything on the group. Just offered them something to do In fact it all fascinated her, That had to be intended. It made the trip go along so much quicker. and with all of the "cargo" busy, they were out from underfoot. [Chorus] Meet the crew, find your place, In this vast and lonely space. Every look, every glance, Is a step in this cosmic dance. Trust and fear intertwine, As the stars and fates align. [Verse 2] Jesse found that checking the ships weapons, (did they really trust her with that?) was a pretty involved task, but it was interesting to watch them tracking through the systems. She had just found that the top turrets needed work, the main crystals were more crack than they were crystal when she noticed that "Spook" was in the turret with her. [Chorus] Meet the crew, find your place, In this vast and lonely space. Every look, every glance, Is a step in this cosmic dance. Trust and fear intertwine, As the stars and fates align. [Verse 3] "You run through that pretty quick," he said and She jumped. How did he get through the hatch without her noticing him? There was barely room up in the turret for one. "Oh hell," she clutched at her stomach. She was shaking. "Ooh, she got a mouth on her too," he was smiling, enjoying the shock he gave her, "got a minute, Jessica?" [Chorus] Meet the crew, find your place, In this vast and lonely space. Every look, every glance, Is a step in this cosmic dance. Trust and fear intertwine, As the stars and fates align. [Verse 4] "Damn you," she swatted him, "you scared me." "Sorry," he was still smiling, but he sounded sincere, (no doubt he practiced that voice) "I'm wondering if you could give me a hand with something." He slid effortlessly from view through the hatch, without so much as a sound. She didn't know why, but she found herself trusting him completely [Outro] As their destination grows close, Through the silence, tension grows. In the shadows of the night, Mysteries take their flight. Trust in whispers, tales untold, In the darkness, be bold. Where will this story lead, In the stars we will read.
