[Verse 1] Heard a band down the street Three chords fast, off the beat Everyone shouting loud We just stood in the crowd [Pre-Chorus] They don’t care what came before We’ve seen that kind of war [Chorus 1] We’re too late to be loud Too late to shout it out They’re kicking doors down now We’re just watching somehow [Verse 2] Used to play just like that Too much noise, nothing back Now we take it slow Let the silence show [Pre-Chorus] They can run if they want We don’t say that we won’t [Chorus 2] We’re too late to be loud Too far in to turn around They can scream it out proud We don’t need that sound [Bridge — stripped back] Maybe we lost that fight Maybe they’re more right Still got something to say Just a different way [Final Chorus — biggest, resolved] We’re too late to be loud But we’re still here now They can burn it all down We’ll just hold our ground [Outro — tight stop]
