Not the End of the Story Yet

Verse 1: The day the news story breaks, I am calling off work I will hide inside blankets in case my feelings get hurt There are going to be images playing on the channels Maybe hear gasps of horror on the TV show panels Two babies were raised in totally different homes This life event could become how they are known But I certainly think this is not the end of the story Because there are still huge opportunities for me I bet I'll become the guy who hosts AI hackathons Rather than the one who never quite belonged Chorus: I bet this will not be the end of the story yet Remember, you’ve got nearly thirty years left And that’s just before you seek out retirement Who really knows how much time is left? Refrain 1: That’s if you actually live that long… What do I want to do before I’m gone? Verse 2: Intellectually, I know that it’s not going to change that much But it certainly seems like it’s going to change some stuff I need to figure out what I want the next couple of steps to be I need to have a plan rather than just one day try to flee I guess I’m not prepared to look at the TV and say that’s me But the reality is that it’s not going to be that surprising I have seen myself on video and edited my own video many times The difference will simply be how they do the storyline Everything is pretty much going to go normal after that happens Days later, I will just be sitting here smoking and rapping I keep treating this like I need to sacrifice the rest of my life The reality is that it’s less than five minutes of people’s time Chorus: I bet this will not be the end of the story yet Remember, you’ve got nearly thirty years left And that’s just before you seek out retirement Who really knows how much time is left? Refrain 1: That’s if you actually live that long… What do I want to do before I’m gone? Bridge: Few people have time to consume more than one storyline But for you, I think that you will be back to normal in no time You have made this whole thing out to be bigger than it is If you get stressed, you could always smoke cigarettes The point is, this story will brush over in less than a week It’s never going to have any meaning that you seek The outcome is totally random, and things happen in tandem You can have wishes, but you may not get to have them Chorus: I bet this will not be the end of the story yet Remember, you’ve got nearly thirty years left And that’s just before you seek out retirement Who really knows how much time is left? Refrain 2: I bet it’s not the end of the story yet… Most of this you will probably forget… I bet it’s not the end of the story yet… Time likes to play that kind of theft…
