[instrumental] I used to think I had to chase God to find his glory Or be perfect to have his Glory find me But now that I’m grown I can see His glory shines everywhere for all to see It isn’t hidden although some may say his love is distant God, I know that Your love isn’t far Because of what you’ve done and what you have said. you love others too much to force them to obey you And When mankind failed to obey you Your history book tells us that You didn’t fail to provide a way back to your divine relationship A means of adoption Our sin stains washed clean by means of atonement through the blood of your only son Jesus on the cross Everything was paid By Amazing grace You fought for us And we know by your word Jesus that all who come to you, you will never cast out So we can let our anxieties be laid Down where we picked them up in the first place Your love teaches us to come back to you every time we stray Because when we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness What you want from us is our trust I used to think that God’s favor was temporary And only followed me when my walk was perfect But now I can see that when I stray you discipline Like a father disciplines a child Because you love us and it’s evidence of your adoption of us And I’m not going to lie I’m comforted when I notice your discipline because I’m reminded of your presence It’s like seeing a car drive by in traffic on a road trip that I recognize from a ways back Or a landscape feature that is a landmark Reminding me of my travel directions And where I am I used to pray that you wouldn’t take away my ticket to heaven Over and over again Like I lost it a minute after asking you for it As if I could obtain it by the magic of how I would phrase the question On road trips I used to wonder where the beginning car in traffic was all I could see were cars driving ahead and behind me I could never see the beginning But we kept on driving When I look to the sky I can’t find the beginning or end to all of the stars But Everything that man has made has a start And When I observe the universe And see the light that has dispersed To illuminate galaxies which contain stars as numerous as the grains of sand on the sea shore You told us that you created all of the stars and they are amazing More of your glory to explore Somehow you tell us that even the heavens above cannot contain you And if you are bigger than all of that, I’m not sure how your spirit can live inside of my chest But when I feel your love it’s more evidence That your with me till the end Jesus, you said that your Father will give the Holy Spirit to those that ask him Heavenly Father, You know my beginning because you formed me in my mother’s womb And through faith in your son Jesus you promise eternal life Because after the cross he rose again from the dead and left behind an empty tomb If I were to drive a space ship far enough into the heavens and turn around I might see a pale blue dot Where all of humanity has lived from the beginning till now And inside my tiny space probe I might hear a song being sung Hark the Herald Angels Sing Glory to the reigning King And In time I might see more than others have seen My eyes funneling in more light that isn’t obstructed by objects in the vastness of a vacuum that’s empty Now I know your glory isn’t far from me Because your light shines in the dark and has shined on me when I’m in my darkest moments and in the darkest valleys And your spirit teaches my conscious of your will Evidence of the things unseen And evidence that you love me I no longer have to search for your glory because your love found me [instrumental]
