I Wouldn't Fire Me (FM) | Jackson Holler
02- "I Wouldn't Fire Me" written by Rackvin Solmni Sun come up like a wanted poster, stuck another Monday to my chest. Coffee black as the ink on my roster, list of reasons I ain’t passed the test. Boss man stares from the mirror shavin’, eyes bloodshot but the fire still burns. He leans in close and starts complainin’, but I just laugh and hand him the urn. I wouldn’t fire me, even if I could, I’d keep me on the payroll, misunderstood. Yeah the wheels get loose and the numbers go wild, but this heart still beats like a renegade child. I’d cuss me out, then buy me a round, pat me on the back when the sun goes down. Stormin’ through the chaos, doin’ what I please— hell, I wouldn’t fire me, even if I could. I miss deadlines like a bronc misses fences, leave tools scattered where the good Lord sees. Dreams get tangled in twelve-hour trenches, still wake up singin’ in the same worn jeans. Some days I’m slower than a county jury, other days I’m lightning in a Mason jar. But every time the whistle blows early, I tip my hat and thank the lucky star. World’s too precious to hand off the reins, got mountains to guard and rivers to claim. If I walked away, who’d watch the flame? Nobody loves this fight the same… No, I wouldn’t fire me, even if I could, I’d sign me for another hundred years, knock on wood. Let the gears grind on and the circle stay true, long as this wild soul keeps runnin’ for you. I’ll cuss me out, then buy me a round, raise a glass to the man still holdin’ ground. Stormin’ through tomorrow, doin’ what I please— Lord, I wouldn’t fire me… nah, I wouldn’t fire me… even if I could.
