Echoes from the Equinox

Shadows stretch across the stone As if the gods had come back home The serpent slithers down the stair A whisper coils through heated air Twice a year, the world aligns And memory flickers in the pines A thousand steps, a single light Reveals the truth that hides in night We are the echoes from the equinox Time unlocked by ancient clocks When feathered scales light up the wall We hear the serpent’s distant call The priests remember, but never speak Of what descends on solar peaks They chant to bones, they chant to fire To wake the gods, to lift them higher We are the echoes from the equinox Truths preserved in sacred rocks When light returns and shadows twist We feel the gods we once dismissed Stone and sky, and steps so wide The serpent lives, though it may hide One beam of light, and we recall We never walked alone at all
