Woke up with a promise that I made somewhere along the way Can't remember all the details, just the reason I still stayed Had a couple rough nights, yeah, had a few things go sideways But I keep moving forward, I ain't worried what they might say I've said things I couldn't finish, I've made a mess or two Took a wrong turn, lost some time, that's just what people do But there's something in me pulling when I'm tempted to let go Maybe it's the little voice saying, "Man, you already know" I don't need to have it figured out I just need a reason to keep going now If I say I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it Even when the whole damn world says, "Nah, don't do it" I might bend, I might break, I might lose my way But I'll find that road again If I give you my word, I'm gonna mean it If I tell you I'm here, you better believe it Ain't about being perfect, ain't about looking cool It's just something I gotta do I've chased a lot of things that looked good from across the room Some disappeared by morning, some came way too soon Now I'm learning not every door is mine to walk through And sometimes letting go is the best thing you can do I don't need a spotlight, don't need everybody knowing Some things get stronger when you keep them quietly growing So here's to all the screw-ups, all the nights we got it wrong Sometimes losing your direction is how you find where you belong I don't need to have it figured out I just need a reason to keep going now If I say I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it Even when the whole damn world says, "Nah, don't do it" I might bend, I might break, I might lose my way But I'll find that road again If I give you my word, I'm gonna mean it If I tell you I'm here, you better believe it Ain't about being perfect, ain't about looking cool It's just something I gotta do Maybe that's enough Maybe that's the whole thing Keep a little faith Keep moving when the road swings
