A note on the instruments used in the piece Chrome-framed string harp – the main instrument of the piece. It plays a solo in the intro, leads the main theme, performs a virtuosic solo in the interlude, and concludes the piece with three strikes. The sound is sharp, metallic, and crystalline. Moog Taurus – a deep, pulsating floor bass. It enters at the end of the intro and leads the low end in "Orbit." Roland MC-4 – a hardware sequencer controlling the mathematical pulse in "Orbit." It gives the whole thing an inhuman precision. Eminent 310 Unique – a wide, undulating background strings (Phased Strings). Quiet in the background in "Orbit," full-throttle in the main theme and finale. LinnDrum – a dry, compressed kick and snare drum. It builds the basic stadium rhythm. Elka Synthex – short, crystalline responses to the harp phrases in "Deep Space." Fast arpeggios in "Galactic Flight." Yamaha DX7 – high, metallic accents synchronized with harp strikes. Simmons SDS-V – explosive electronic toms and powerful percussive accents in "Deep Space" and "Galactic Flight." Roland TR-808 – 16th-note hi-hats driving the rhythm forward. Roland Jupiter-8 – wide, triumphant brass pads under the main theme and in the climax. Fairlight CMI – a delicate, breathy chorus in the main theme, a full-bodied, sacred chorus in "Final Ascent." ARP 2626 – brutal, distorted bass
