**[Intro - Soft Steel & Acoustic]** **[Verse 1]** I pre-tripped my rig, getting ready for my day, Planned my route, fourteen hours on my clock, Had that home on my mind, all my gear on, clean from the shower, Turned on my phone, punched on my headset, Said Siri, call home. **[Verse 2]** Phone starts ringing as I pull out from the Pilot, On I-35, I said honey, sweet honey, I'm heading home, Six hundred miles out, what I can see, Clear skies shining, or so I believed. **[Pre-Chorus]** Trouble on the highway, I backed it down, Sirens blaring, I looked around, Tires shrieking, I didn't like that sound, Metal smashing, glass all around. **** Oh honey, oh honey, I'm coming home, Not the way I planned, sorry baby I'm gone, Please kiss my grandkids, tell 'em Pop-Pop loves them, Don't worry no more, I'm hammered down.[Chorus] **[Verse 3]** There was a four-wheeler passing on my right side, Came up the right shoulder on I-35, Cut me off, like they didn't care, Large as I was, as if I wasn't there, Little did I know, on the day that I died. **[Chorus - Bigger]** Oh honey, oh honey, I'm coming home, Not the way I planned, sorry darling I'm gone, Oh honey, darling, I'll miss your sweet touch, The Lord has me now, and I love you so much. **[Bridge - Heavenly Truck Stop - Strip it down]** Honey, sweet honey, this ain't goodbye, I'm in a heavenly truck stop where the coffee always flows, Where the ribeyes are perfect and the service astounds, With Saint Peter and me in a heavenly town, Right on the corner of I-35 and Crown. **[Outro - Soft Final Chorus]** Don't worry my love, I'm hammered down, With a stop at Saint Peter's, at the Heavenly Gate, I logged off my clock, that's where I'll watch, Idle air running at the Heavenly Gate, Honey sweet honey, you're not alone, My spirit is with you, I made it home, Don't worry baby, I'm hammered down. **[Tags: End on held steel note, fade]** ---
