[Verse 1] I was taught to guard the doorway, To be certain, to be right, But Love was moving past the borders, Like the morning follows night. Through a prayer, a song, a silence, Through a truth I’d never known, Every ray that warmed another Led me closer to my home. [Pre-Chorus] I don’t have to fear the wisdom Growing in another field. What is holy needs no weapon. What is true will be revealed. [Chorus] Follow the Light wherever it leads, Follow the Love you find in its wake. If it brings peace, if compassion grows, Open your heart for Heaven’s sake. No wall can hold it, no name contains it, No single window captures the view. Follow the Light wherever it leads— The Light will lead through Love to you. [Verse 2] Jesus said to love the stranger, Love the wounded, love the least. Buddha taught that hate grows quiet When compassion brings release. Different languages and symbols, Different paths beneath our feet, Yet wherever mercy rises, There the human and divine meet. [Pre-Chorus] We can honour where we’ve come from Without fearing where you stand. Light is never made more holy By extinguishing your lamp. [Bridge] The Light needs no defense. It stands upon its own. It doesn’t ask for enemies To prove that it has grown. It teaches me to love myself, My neighbour and my God, And recognize the sacred ground Wherever Love has walked. [Breakdown] Does it soften what was hardened? Does it help the fearful breathe? Does it teach us to see clearly? Does it loosen pride and greed? Does it make the circle wider? Does it honour every soul? Then follow where that Light is shining. Let its Love awaken all. [Final Chorus] Follow the Light wherever it leads, Follow the Love you find in its wake. If it brings peace, if compassion grows, Open your heart for Heaven’s sake. No wall can hold it, no name contains it, Still every heart can carry it through. Follow the Light wherever it leads— The Light will lead through Love to you. [Outro] From every people, every nation, Every honest search for truth, May we follow Love together, And let the Light make all things new. Follow the Light. Follow the Love. Let peace reveal What the Light is made of.
