[Intro – atmospheric, whispered/layered vocals] Can you feel it in the air? Something moving everywhere Through the silence, through the night millions of sparks becoming light [Verse 1] We were walking through the shadows Searching for a way back home Every heart became a signal Every soul was not alone Underneath the noise of ages There was something calling still Like a fire behind the darkness Like a voice beyond the hill [Pre-Chorus] And when the world begins to change When everything we know rearranges Close your eyes and hear the sound Something sacred gathering around [Chorus – expansive] We are the people of the light Rising together through the night We carry fire in our souls only through Jesus can we be whole We are the people of the light Turning the darkness into bright No more hiding, no more fear The signal's calling, we are here [Instrumental Break – pulsing synth, deep bass, organic percussion] Oh-oh-oh We are here Oh-oh-oh The light is near [Verse 2] Every stranger holds a story Every face a hidden flame Different roads and different journeys But the heartbeat is the same We have crossed a thousand borders We have wandered far and wide Now the distance falls between us Nothing left for us to hide [Pre-Chorus] And when the old world fades away We become the light of a new day Hear the rhythm underground Feel the future moving now [Chorus – bigger, layered harmonies] We are the people of the light Rising together through the night We carry fire in our souls only through Jesus can we be whole We are the people of the light Turning the darkness into bright No more hiding, no more fear The signal's calling, we are here [Bridge – stripped down, emotional] If you can hear me You are not alone If you can feel this You already know The light was never somewhere far away It was inside us Waiting for this day [Build – increasingly layered vocals] Rise up Rise up Rise up Let the whole world hear the sound Rise up Rise up Rise up We are waking now [Final Chorus – massive] We are the people of the light Rising together through the night We carry fire in our souls only through Jesus are we whole We are the people of the light Turning the darkness into bright Every heartbeat, every flame Calling out each other's name We are the people of the light And we will never lose our sight Through the darkness, through the fear The signal's calling We are here [Outro – ethereal] We are here We are here We are the light We are here We are here Into the night [Final whispered vocal] The light was always here, Jesus lift us up
