We Only Have a Short Time

The clock keeps whispering softly in the dark Writing little stories on our hearts Yesterday feels close enough to touch Yet tomorrow never promises too much So hold me close and don't let moments fly Love was never meant to ask us why If forever comes, we'll welcome every day But tonight is all we're given anyway Chorus We only have a short time A few sweet moments to call our own So let me love you deeply Before another day is gone Don't waste our kisses counting years Or worrying over what we cannot know We only have a short time Baby, let's make heaven while we're here below Verse 2 I've seen people chasing dreams so far away Missing all the blessings of today And I've learned that laughter shared with you Means more than all the riches people pursue Your gentle smile can calm my troubled mind A greater treasure I could never find So let's dance slowly to this simple song And thank the Lord for bringing us along Chorus We only have a short time A few sweet moments to call our own So let me love you deeply Before another day is gone Don't waste our kisses counting years Or worrying over what we cannot know We only have a short time Baby, let's make heaven while we're here below Bridge One day the seasons all will change And memories will remain But until that final curtain falls I'll speak your name with love through it all Final Chorus We only have a short time And every second shines like gold So wrap your arms around me And never let your feelings go untold If tomorrow never comes our way I'll still thank heaven for your precious soul We only have a short time And loving you has made my spirit whole Outro Mmmmmm... Just a short time... So love me now... And I'll love you forever... Even if forever... Is only one more song... :::
