Cantata In Ruins
Kyrie… Dies illa… Et lux perpetua - has turned to ash. I knelt in marble silence, the altar cold, the candles drowned. I prayed in keys of ancient stone, with every chord, I cracked a bone. The choir wept with tongues of glass, and time dissolved like powdered mass. No voice replied. No god returned. Just echoes carved in wax and bone. My faith, a thread the fire spurned still trembling long after it was gone. Let the harpsichord remember what prayers forgot. Let the requiem whisper what forgiveness is not. And if I scream it’s not for grace. It’s for the fire you tried to erase. The cantata waits. The ruins sing. No crowns remain. No offering. The dust performs what saints refused. The notes are cracked, but never used. Et in pulverem revertentur... Non cantus, non corona... ...sed vox manet. Let the bells fall down like names. Let the dust out-sing the flames. No absolution, no domain just blood, and silence once again. So crown the cellos with thorn and rust, let the wind conduct the dust. Play my requiem in ruin's key and let the bones conduct me. Cantus ex cinere. Vox ex nihilo. Audite ossa. Et vox tua devorabit lucem.
