The Mockingjay´s Lament
THE MOCKINGJAY’S LAMENT [Intro – layered whispers, soft noise, distant cello harmonics] A song in the shadow… a heart in the flame… [Verse 1 – fragile vocal, soft piano and cello] They paint my wings in gold, but I just feel the weight, every word I’m forced to speak, they twist and consecrate. Mockingjay, they name me, but who truly hears, when the night is closing in… on all my hidden fears. [Chorus – sad, floating, wide reverb] This is the Mockingjay’s lament, a fragile cry in cold cement. I never meant to be their sign, yet bear the flame… on this thin spine. [Verse 2 – slightly fuller strings, more intensity] Ash upon my lips, tastes bitter like deceit, a storm inside my chest, no safe place to retreat. “Hero”, they whisper, in the cheering crowd, but no one feels how deep… the silence gets too loud. [Chorus – repeat, more harmonies] This is the Mockingjay’s lament, a fragile cry in cold cement. I never meant to be their sign, yet bear the flame… on this thin spine. [Bridge – very minimal, voice + distant pad] When darkness weighs me to the ground, and hope makes such a quiet sound, I’ll keep this trembling candle lit, until someone… sees through it. [Final Chorus – emotional, not bombastic] This is the Mockingjay’s lament, a voice beneath the firmament. And even when my spirit shakes, I’ll guard the light… that freedom makes. This is the Mockingjay’s lament, a song of loss… and faint ascent. If all I am is bruised and tired, I’ll still stand up… with wings on fire.
