[Verse 1 — Male] It was a dark and trembling day At a place called Calvary. In the midst of mockers and non-believers, There hung a Man dying on a cross. There hung a Man without sin, Dying for the sins of the world— Dying on a cross meant for you and me. [Chorus — Male with Female Harmony] Listen for your call… Take up your cross and follow The Lord Jesus Christ. Give your life for the Lord, And you will have life forever. Just listen for the call— The call of the cross. [Verse 2 — Male] Turn your heart to the Lord; Let it be filled with thanks and gratitude. For the Lord Jesus freely took our place. He suffered on the Cross And offered Himself for us, So that we may be forgiven, Saved from our sins. [Verse 3 — Male/Female] The way of Christ is the way of the Cross, The way of mercy and forgiveness. Jesus died upon the Cross to save us; Receive the gift that He has given. Turn your heart to Jesus Christ, Our Savior and our Lord. For He calls us from the darkness of sin And brings us into the light of His Father. [Final Chorus — Male & Female] Listen for your call… Take up your cross and follow The Lord Jesus Christ. Give your life for the Lord, And you will have life forever. Just listen for the call— The call of the cross.
