Someone came to my door one day Said he wanted to help those in need He and the ones who stood beside him Praised each other for what they had done Then they walked away with satisfied smiles And I never saw them here again Someone was singing a song of hope Saying he believed in the power of music But the very next week, he was dancing To a different song, a different tune The words he once carefully wrote Were left behind on a dusty shelf And it seems that no one remembers They were ever there at all The wind that blew yesterday No one remembers anymore No one ever tries to follow Where that wind will go Though there are those who still remain Forever standing in that wind There are those who only come on special days Saying, “You must never forget” But there is no special day For the things that must be remembered Every day is a day of struggle Every day is a day of prayer And he is the kind of person Who only bows his head When there are eyes upon him The wind that blew yesterday No one remembers anymore No one ever tries to follow Where that wind will go Though there are those who still remain Forever standing in that wind The Wind No One Remembers The Wind No One Remembers
