[Verse 1] Anna had curls like spun-up corn Jessy came in with a face so forlorn Blonde in the blue and red in the glow Both of them grinned like they knew the show They met by the record and the pickle jar Traded one smile, then a second, and a star Anna said, "Mercy, you talk too fast" Jessy said, "Honey, I finish what I start" [Pre-Chorus] Then the room got small And the air got sweet Anna missed a beat Jessy tapped her feet [Chorus] Oh Anna, oh Jessy, what a curious thing One kiss, one wink, and the whole room swings Oh Anna, oh Jessy, don't you see? You're my little trouble and my jubilee (Anna and Jessy) (Oh, what a pair) [Verse 2] Jessy wore rouge and a too-bright hat Anna laughed so hard she nearly fell back Said, "Girl, you’re a riot in those shoes" Jessy said, "Baby, I got better news" They danced so close by the soda machine One of 'em blushed and the other got mean Then soft as a feather on a suitcoat sleeve They both said, "Well, now, who’d have believed?" [Pre-Chorus] Then the band went low And the moon went thin Anna held her breath Jessy grinned again [Chorus] Oh Anna, oh Jessy, what a curious thing One kiss, one wink, and the whole room swings Oh Anna, oh Jessy, don't you see? You're my little trouble and my jubilee (Anna and Jessy) (Oh, what a pair) [Bridge] If love's a joke, then tell it twice If hearts can dance, they learned it nice Blonde and red in a tumble and a spin They married the laugh and fell right in [Final Chorus] Oh Anna, oh Jessy, what a curious thing One kiss, one wink, and the whole room swings Oh Anna, oh Jessy, hand in hand Two silly hearts with a perfect plan (Anna and Jessy) (Oh, what a pair)
