River Bank Prayer

[Intro] One love by the river bank One love by the river bank [Verse 1] Morning comes soft Palm leaves tap the tin I wash off the dust Let the day roll in Children in the yard Laughing through the fence I keep my heart light And my faith immense [Pre-Chorus] Oh, I can feel it now Storm clouds moving out Oh, I can hear it now Peace is coming round [Verse 2] Market lady smiles Bananas in her hand Old man on the curb Pounding on a can Every little step Turns the rough to gold Every little song Keeps the spirit bold [Break] Yeah, yeah Let it breathe Let it breathe [Pre-Chorus] Oh, I can feel it now Storm clouds moving out Oh, I can hear it now Peace is coming round [Chorus] River bank prayer Carry me home River bank prayer I’m not alone River bank prayer Strong in my bones River bank prayer Carry me home [Bridge] When the road gets thin And the sky goes gray I remember this We can find our way Hold the hand you know Keep the fire near Love is not a rumor Love is living here [Solo] [Melodica Solo] [Break] Pull it back Pull it back Soft and steady [Verse 3] Rain on the zinc roof Knocking like a friend Fresh clay on my shoes Till the hard parts bend Sister at the gate Braiding up her hair She says, “Keep the flame Keep it everywhere” [Pre-Chorus] Oh, I can feel it now Storm clouds moving out Oh, I can hear it now Peace is coming round [Chorus] River bank prayer Carry me home River bank prayer I’m not alone River bank prayer Strong in my bones River bank prayer Carry me home [Verse 4] Night lays down blue cloth Over mango trees Fireflies writing vows In the dark breeze Even if the world Turns and tests my name I will walk in grace And I’ll stay the same [Break] Yeah, yeah Let it breathe Let it breathe [Bridge] When the road gets thin And the sky goes gray I remember this We can find our way Hold the hand you know Keep the fire near Love is not a rumor Love is living here [Pre-Chorus] Oh, I can feel it now Storm clouds moving out Oh, I can hear it now Peace is coming round [Outro] River bank prayer Soft on the tongue River bank prayer The work is done River bank prayer Morning will come River bank prayer One love, one drum
