# MIGHT AS WELL LOOK UP **[Verse 1]** Woke up late this morning, Coffee hit the floor. Couldn't find my good shoes, Locked my keys behind the door. Cloud rolled in above me, Rain came right on cue. I looked up at that old grey sky, Said, “That the best you can do?” **[Pre-Chorus]** Wasn't what I planned, Ain't the hand I'd choose— But it's still my day, And they're still my blues. **[Chorus]** Might as well look up, When everything goes down. Might as well keep moving When trouble comes around. If I wind up in the ditch Before I get too far, I'll make myself comfortable And look up at the stars. Yeah, life can knock me flat, But it don't get to call my bluff. If I'm already on the bottom— I might as well look up. **[Verse 2]** Car quit at the corner, Rain got in my shoe. Fellow stopped and asked me, “Man, what you gonna do?” I said, “Haven't quite decided, But the day's still young.” Then I kicked that useless tire— And hurt my other thumb. **[Pre-Chorus]** Could've stood there cussing, Could've called it rotten luck. But the sun don't need permission To come shining through the muck. **[Instrumental Break]** **[Bridge]** I've had days go sideways, I've had plans go south. Had my foot land in places I shouldn't talk about. But I learned a little something Every time I hit the ground— You see a whole lot more of heaven When you're looking up from down. **[Final Chorus]** So I might as well look up When everything goes down. Might as well keep dancing When trouble comes around. And if I wind up in the ditch Before I get too far, I'll make myself comfortable And count a couple stars. Yeah, life can knock me flat, But it don't get to keep me stuck. This might not be the day I wanted— **But it's still my day.** So I might as well look up. **[Outro]** Ain't where I planned on being... But the view ain't half bad from here.
