Another day… But where’s my delight? Can I no longer remember? I’m gazing at my computer with its icons far below. They’re stale and fallen, mutely silent, and cold like winter snow. But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? Who built these walls and chained me to this fortress? Who took my hope, snatched my joy, and robbed my peace? And why did friendships with their laughter cease? But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? I was lost in a desert without compass or map and driven by thirst. Seeking relief, I was chasing mirages in a world of illusion. I was left broken – in doubt and despair in a sea of confusion. But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? When hope slipped away, tears watered my thirst. Then I heard Him whisper, “If you’ll seek Me, you’ll find Me. If you’ll receive Me, I’ll enter your heart. I’ll give you living water to quench your thirst; and I’ll stay and never depart.” But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? We remember love through songs that sweep our memories. Some may arouse our anger from feelings that have lied. But without forever love, forever would have died. But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? When my heart rocked with pain, He heard my every cry. When surrounded by darkness with nowhere to turn, To call upon His Name is a lesson I had to learn. But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? Abiding in His room, He freed me from my tomb. He’s revealed through His books and my poetry. Jesus is my Rock – the One Who truly loves me! But where’s my Rock – the One Who truly loves me? “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
